As we race through July we can confirm that Chuck Moore (pictured above left), the language founder, is attending this conference in Edinburgh, to help us celebrate 50 years of Forth at the Doubletree/Hilton Queensferry Hotel on the banks of the Firth of Forth. The conference starts with a lunch on Friday 14th Septermber 2018, and continues until noon on Sunday 16th September 2018. It is preceded by two days of Forth 200x Standards meeting.
Chuck will give a talk after dinner at the Saturday night Conference Banquet in addition to being recorded in a special 50 Years of Forth video interview.
A professional
videographer has been engaged to record an interview with each
of the leading lights in the Forth communities.
The interviews
planned for now are: Chuck Moore, Leon Wagner (below left), The
current President of Forth Inc. and Stephen Pelc (below right), who is
owner of MPE. Leon and Stephen are the two main commercial vendors
of Forth Systems.
The Conference will
start after lunch on Friday 14th September 2018 and continue until
lunchtime on Sunday 16th September 2018. Following the conference end on
Sunday, we have organised a trip on the Forth Belle (pictured below) that
will travel
beneath the three Forth Bridges and circumnavigate Inchcolm Island with an
option for a 90 minute shore excursion at the island. A good time to
network and make friends with other people interested in our special
language, Forth. The attendance will
be limited by hotel capacity (they only have 70 bedrooms). We, therfore,
urge you to begin planning your travel and book your place to avoid any
disappointment, letting me know your arrival and departure dates. If you
need an invoice, we can send one. The papers that have
been submitted so far, and of which we have been notified, are listed
below. There is still
room in the schedule to include a few more papers, so this is the
